Business immigration to the UK – How?

 

Tier 1 Investor Visa

This category is for high net worth non-EEA nationals making a substantial investment in the UK. The
investment must be at least £2 million in the UK by way of UK Government bonds or actively trading
UK registered companies. You will be able to bring your spouse and children to the UK and you may
have the right to reside in the UK permanently and qualify for British citizenship.
In order to qualify for a Tier 1 Investor visa, you will need to

have funds amounting to at least £2 million belonging to yourself, your partner or the two of you
jointly,
the money is held in a regulated financial institution, freely transferable to the UK and able to be
converted to pounds sterling,
you have opened an account with a UK regulated bank for the purpose of investing not less than £2
million in the UK.

Tier 1 Entrepreneurs Visa – establishing a business in the UK

If you are a non-EEA national businessperson and wish to establish or invest in a UK business then the
Tier 1 Entrepreneur category may be for you.
In order to qualify for a Tier 1 Entrepreneur visa you will need to have access to:
£200,000;
£50,000 if it is provided by a registered venture capitalist firm, UK entrepreneurial seed funding
competition or UK Government Department or you are currently in the UK as a Tier 1 Graduate
Entrepreneur or as a Tier 1 Post Study Work migrant.
You will need to be competent in the English language to at least CEFR Level B1 in reading, writing,
listening and speaking and have enough additional money to support yourself without relying on public
funds. In order to obtain a Tier 1 Entrepreneur visa you will also need to be actively involved in the
running of a UK business and you must have a credible business plan.

Tier 1 Graduate Entrepreneur Visa

This route is for non-EEA nationals who have graduated in the UK or abroad who have been officially
endorsed as having a credible business idea and entrepreneurial skills.
In order to qualify for a Tier 1 Graduate Entrepreneur visa you will need to have a degree, either from
the UK or from an overseas education institution which has been confirmed as equivalent to a UK
degree.
You will also need to have an endorsement from a UK Higher Educational Institution or the
Department for International Trade issued within the last 3 months.
Your endorsement must confirm that you have a credible business idea.
You must be able to speak English to a required standard and support yourself in the UK without
recourse to public funds.

Tier 1 Exceptional Talent Visa

If you are a non-EEA national recognized leader (exceptional talent) or an emerging leader
(exceptional promise) in the fields of science, humanities, engineering, medicine, digital technology or
the Arts, you may be able to apply for a Tier 1 (Exceptional Talent) visa.
There is a 2-stage application process to obtain this visa.

Stage 1 – You first need to apply to the Home Office for an endorsement as a leader or an emerging
leader in your particular field.
Stage 2 – once you have been endorsed, you can apply for the visa.
The relevant endorsing bodies are:
 The Royal Society
 The Royal Academy of Engineering
 The British Academy
 The Arts Council
 Tech City UK

Tier 2 (general) skilled workers

This category is for skilled workers who wish to live and work in the United Kingdom long term and
possibly permanently.
You can apply for a Tier 2 (General) visa if you have been offered a skilled job in the UK and you are
from outside the European Economic Area (EEA) and Switzerland.
In order to qualify for a Tier 2 General visa, you will need to
have a job offer in the UK from an employer that holds a Tier 2 Sponsor License;
the job you are sponsored for is at least graduate level or a specified creative profession;
the job is on the list of skilled occupations;
you will be paid a minimum salary of £30,000 or the minimum for the exact job you are doing,
whichever is higher;
the job offer is a genuine vacancy and you are appropriately qualified or registered to do the job.

Sponsor Licence Visa applications for Employers

If you are looking to hire skilled individuals from outside the EEA who do not already have the right to
work in the UK, you will need to obtain a Tier 2 or Tier 5 Sponsor Licence.
Tier 2 is for skilled workers you wish to employ either long term or permanently.
Tier 5 is for skilled workers you wish to employ on a temporary basis.
In order to obtain a sponsor licence:
Your company must be a genuine organisation operating lawfully in the UK;
You are honest, dependable and reliable;
You are capable of carrying out your sponsor duties and evidencing your compliance in an appropriate
timeframe and manner.

Representative of an Overseas Business Visa

If you are looking to hire skilled individuals from outside the EEA who do not already have the right to
work in the UK, you will need to obtain a Tier 2 or Tier 5 Sponsor Licence.
Tier 2 is for skilled workers you wish to employ either long term or permanently.
Tier 5 is for skilled workers you wish to employ on a temporary basis.
In order to obtain a sponsor licence:
Your company must be a genuine organisation operating lawfully in the UK;
You are honest, dependable and reliable;
You are capable of carrying out your sponsor duties and evidencing your compliance in an appropriate
timeframe and manner.

it is limited by shares
it used standard articles of association
Register by post
You can register by post using form IN01.
Postal applications take 8 to 10 days and cost £40 (paid by cheque made out to ‘Companies House’).
You can be registered on the same day if you:
get your application to Companies House by 3pm and pay £100
Your envelope (and any courier’s envelope) must be marked ‘same day service’ in the top left-hand
corner.
